July 1:
GUYER RD; Caller reported that he is receiving unwanted mail.
SUNSET RD; Walk in requested 10 cones for a block party at her residence. Officer assisted.
SUMMER ST; Walk in party reported that his vehicle had been struck in the public parking lot across the Fine Arts building. No injuries reported.
MAIN ST; Officer moved a snapping turtle from the road.
LINCOLN ST; The reporting party reported that two juveniles had taken photos of his motorcycle at the end of his driveway. Requested for PD to do extra checks and to document the suspicious activity.
July 2:
HILLSIDE ST; Wrong way violation
DARTMOUTH ST; Caller reported that there is a raccoon stuck in a trash can on their property. Animal Control Officer notified.
July 3:
CONCORD ST CIR; Calling party had questions about a former resident who was evicted and whether they were allowed to be on the property. Advised there were not any no trespass orders in place and the person was allowed to visit the property
DIGITAL WAY; Walk in reported a vehicle tried to hit him on his scooter. Report filed.
POWDER MILL RD; Caller reported that there is a drunk male party at the Wendy’s drive-through who has scraped the side of the building. Acton man arrested for OUI and Negligent Operation of Motor Vehicle.
PARKER ST; Officer reported two suspicious parties at the cemetery with flash lights. DPW contacted about a door at the cemetery found kicked in, possibly fresh. Subjects were located in a car at the Boys and Girls Club.
July 4:
ROCKLAND AVE; Caller reported that it looks like someone who is homeless may be setting up a camp site at the end of the street of the reported address. Officer was able to locate and speak with the involved party. They will be packing up their items and moving on.
MAPLE ST + CONCORD ST; Two mattresses, box spring and a white table were left leaning up against the wall to her property. None of the items are hers. Officers reported that the items were blocking the sidewalk. With the permission of the homeowner the items have been moved onto her property to await being taken by the DPW.
MAIN ST; Caller reported that an alarm in their house was activated. They are unsure if it was a CO or smoke alarm. CO readings were found inside the apartment building. The water heater has been turned off and the residents have been advised. Engine 1 requested Eversource on scene. Engine 1 reported, carbon monoxide is coming from an oven in one unit, gas leak from water heater in another unit, 2nd floor laundry also leaking gas. Gas shut off and James MacDonald, property owner, was notified of areas of concern. Plumbing and Gas Inspector also notified.
July 6:
MAIN ST; The reporting party requested to follow up about a fireworks complaint last night and to apologize to officer.
TAFT AVE; The calling party reported her garage was on fire and her husband was in the garage but subsequently exited the garage. Mutual aid from several towns was requested and utilized. Fire investigation team requested. Command reported the Fire Investigation team cleared the scene and it was turned over to the homeowners.
July 7:
ACTON ST; Command reported that there was a downed wire on fire then extinguished by rain. Eversource contacted.
July 8:
MAIN ST; The ADT alarm company called and reported a level 1 burglary alarm at the listed address. Officers reported that the company is having maintenance done on the roof of the building.
SUMMER ST; The calling party reported to officers that a male party appeared to be in the front yard without any pants on.
July 9:
WINTER ST; Cruiser 12 is dead. CJ Auto notified and is on route to tow it back to their shop.
MAIN ST; Officer reported low hanging wires in front of the reported address. Contacted Verizon and Comcast.
July 10:
POWDER MILL RD; Caller stated that her keys went missing at work around 8:30 am. She was able to track her keys and they are moving. Last ping was near Glenview Terrace. A report will be filed.
POWDER MILL RD; Multiple phone calls regarding down wires in front of Jiffy Lube. Officers on scene to direct traffic. Verizon and Comcast were contacted.
MILL AND MAIN PL; Two high school age males observed throwing rocks at geese and ducks at the pond at Mill and Main (Main Street side). Officer addressed the issue and advised them of consequences of disturbing/harming animals/wildlife. Both males were identified and left the area without issue.
July 11:
Main St; Party was stopped for almost hitting two bicyclists with her vehicle while taking a right turn onto Florida Rd. from Main St. Maynard resident was placed in custody and arrested for OUI 2nd offense and NEGLIGENT OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLE.
WOODRIDGE RD; The walk in party came in to inquire about a message that was left for her about her boyfriend who is on an ankle monitor. It was determined that walk in party had 5 active warrants for their arrest and was placed in custody and escorted to booking.
July 14:
MAIN ST; The walk in party reported she had lost her wallet at the gas station across from the PD after leaving it on top of her car and driving off.
July 17:
DAWN RD; Walk in party wants to speak with an officer about her neighbor. She has not seen her car for several days and she thinks that she may have left her kids alone in the house. Officer spoke to mother on the phone, no concerns.
PARK ST; Caller reported that he had some lights hanging from his fence and someone cut them.
HARRISON ST; The calling party reported a tree fell across the roadway.
CONCORD ST; The calling party reported there was a random black trash bag in his driveway since this morning. He states he doesn’t feel comfortable to check the bag and would like an officer to check it out. Officer checked the bag, nothing suspicious. It looks like it fell off a company truck. The homeowners will be throwing it out next trash rotation.
July 19:
OLD MILL RD; Party checks ok, sleeping before heading home.
DARTMOUTH ST; Caller reported that their two neighbors were having an argument over a dog that bit a child. 911 call received from the owner of the dog stating that his dog had ran away and that his neighbors had hit it with a chair. ACO notified. Another caller reported that she spotted the dog, which is a Doberman, on Great Rd. Officers and ACO notified. Another caller reported that she had the Doberman in her fenced-in yard on Durant Ave. ACO notified.
DIGITAL WAY; Caller reported that her 18y/o daughter had been harassed and followed by an older male at the Planet Fitness. Officer will be speaking with the reporting party.
MAIN ST; Smoke detector will not stop chirping. There are multiple alarms going off at the address and command reported that they will be metering the house. Command reported that they were receiving natural gas readings in the basement. Contacted Eversource. Eversource identified a gas leak in Unit 2’s hot water heater. Gas to the unit is shut off, hot water heater has been red tagged, building has been ventilated.
July 20:
CONCORD ST CIR; Caller reporting neighbor above is making too much noise. Officers spoke to the involved party. Neighbor had a pipe burst and were cleaning up the water. Maintenance was notified. There should be no further issues.
July 21:
GREAT RD; The walk in party turned in a credit card that was found in Market Basket. Officer responded to the listed address and returned the lost credit card.
July 22:
SUMMER ST + VIRGINIA RD; Caller reporting a man on a bike with black pants, long sleeve black shirt, bald, with a black back pack who seems to be intoxicated, riding a bike. The individual fell off the bike into the street. The caller will stand by until police arrive. Officer reported that the male party is working on getting someone to pick him up.
MAIN ST; Caller from Maynard Door and Window reported that flooding from the rain was affecting their store. Officer confirmed significant flooding at 179 Main St. A second caller reported the same issue at the intersection of Great Rd. and Thompson St. DPW was notified and stated that there was nothing that they could do and that residents would have to wait until it stopped raining. Officers assisted in draining the water. Units clear.
July 24:
Main ST; The walk in party found a permanent residence card. The involved party resides in Waltham. Waltham PD notified.
MAIN ST; The calling party reported a suspicious individual sitting on the bench at the listed location. Calling party reported that the involved party had attempted to sell him drugs days prior. Officer made contact with the involved party on the bench. He denies any such involvement and adamantly states he sits there writing a book on astronomy.
DURANT AVE; Walk-in. Party reports she believes that her phone/account might have been “hacked”. Would like some guidance and to speak with an officer. Officer spoke with party and advised her on a course of action.
July 25:
DIGITAL WAY; Caller reported that he has found a stray cat at the Planet Fitness. Animal Control Officer notified.
July 27:
DIGITAL WAY; Walk in party is turning in firearms that belonged to a family member.
July 28:
RIVERSIDE PARK; Caller reported that an electrical box was on fire with flames and smoke coming out of it. Officer reported that the pole is on fire with electrical wiring also down. Eversource Electric notified. Fire Dept reported that there is a distribution line down on the road. The top of the pole is on fire but it is not causing any exposure issues at this time. Eversource on scene and officer reported that the fire has been extinguished.
July 30:
OLD MARLBORO RD; Officer reported that he spoke to the reporting party who had concerns about E bikes in the area. Party spoken to and advised we will make extra checks of the area and to reach out if they return or there were any further safety issues.
July 31:
MAIN ST; 911 Transfer from Acton PD. The calling party reported that a white SUV, possibly a Jeep, was driving erratic, swerving between marked lanes. The calling party was unable to provide a license plate. Surrounding Area checked with no results.
APPLE RIDGE RD; Officer reported that a citizen flagged him down to turn in a found wallet. Officer is heading to that address to return the wallet.
MAIN ST; Caller reported that a white male party was seen walking into the woods behind the warehouse wearing reflective pants and a T-shirt, then sprinting out and speeding away in his car. Officers have identified the involved party riding a unicycle.
