Maynard Celebrates Arbor Day with Downtown Arboretum Dedication

The Maynard Tree Committee, the Maynard Tree Corps and the Maynard Department of Public Works invite the community to an Arbor Day celebration at Memorial Park on Saturday, April 25. The event will feature a dedication of Maynard’s Downtown Arboretum — a newly accredited, street-based collection of primarily native trees that enhances civic spaces, supports local wildlife, improves air quality and serves as a living classroom with educational tags and interpretive signage.

Coffee and pastries from Gilly’s Throwback Snacks, donated by Smith & Finley Homes, will be available from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Guest speakers, including Mike Stevens, will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a tree-planting demonstration at 10:30 a.m. and free tree pickup at 11 a.m.
