The Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School hockey team made it to the MVADA Vocational Championship game against McCann Tech this season — a first in program history.

Spencer Burton, the Assabet athletic director, spoke to the significance of the achievement: “The MVADA League currently includes 22 hockey-playing schools, and this is the first time Assabet has ever qualified for the Vocational Championship in hockey. This team has demonstrated tremendous growth, dedication, and resilience throughout the season, and now has the opportunity to make history. This is an accomplishment that our student-athletes, families, and coaches should be extremely proud of, and we are excited to support the team as they compete for a championship.”
Two Maynard High School hockey players were nominated for player of the week during the season: Elliott Edwards and Evan Hogan.
The MVADA Vocational Championship game was played Saturday, Feb. 21. Though McCann Tech prevailed, it was a tremendous season for the Aztecs.
