January 1:

ESPIE AVE; Caller requested a well-being check on her brother who lived at the above location, stating that she believed he had fallen on his back steps and had been unable to make contact. Contact was made with the male party, who checked OK – the officer would follow up with the caller/sister.

PARK ST; Caller reported that she believed someone had attempted to break into her residence; no description of the person was provided. The area was checked, with negative findings. Report was on file.

January 2:

ACTON ST; Caller reported that a tree had fallen on the rail trail behind Cumberland Farms. No wires were involved. A voicemail was left with The Department of Public Works.

ACTON ST; Call was directed to HQ for a significant fuel spill. Cumberland Farms had contacted their clean-up crew. The pump had been shut down. Fire Station was alerted. Stow engine was dispatched for station coverage. Clean Harbors had a 1hr 30min response time. Equipment repair team arrived. Clean Harbors arrived on scene.

NASON ST; The reporting party wanted to speak with an officer about missing items from the laundromat. She stated she had been doing laundry at the listed address and her blanket was gone. Officer spoke to the party, who planned to follow up with management prior to filing a report to see if they had removed the blanket.

WALTHAM ST; The calling party reported receiving multiple prank calls and wanted to speak with an officer. Officer spoke with the prank caller and told them not to call the business anymore, and the caller agreed. The reporting party was advised to call the station if it continued to happen.

January 3:

MCKINLEY ST; Walk-in party requested to speak with an officer regarding mail that had been delivered to his residence with concerning statements written inside.

MARLBORO ST; The calling party reported an attempted theft of his vehicle, which appeared to have been hot-wired.

January 4:

ACTON ST; The calling party reported that pump six was not shutting off properly, causing fuel to overflow. Engine 1 reported that management had shut the pump off, were advised to repair it, and contact a company for clean-up.

January 5:

MAIN ST; The Executive Assistant to the Town Administrator reported that the office had received a Christmas card from Colorado that was strange.

NASON ST; The owner of the laundromat reviewed camera footage and was able to obtain the license plate of the individual who may have taken a comforter by mistake. Officer was to follow up with the owner. The involved party admitted to accidentally taking the blanket. The reporting party did not want the blanket back and was not pursuing any additional police service.

January 6:

WOOD LANE; One female was in custody for a suspended license and one for an out-of-town warrant.

MCKINLEY ST; The reporting party requested to speak with an officer about suspicious mail she had been receiving.

RICKEY DRIVE; Caller reported seeing a red truck across the street at the neighbor’s house. Situation was checked and found to be clear; it was just a contractor doing work.

January 7:

RIVER ST; Caller reported that he had backed into a motor vehicle in the lot at the listed location and had left a note with his information. He returned to show officers the other vehicle, which had already left.

January 9:

MCKINLEY ST; The reporting party had received a suspicious holiday card in the mail. Similar cards had been received by neighbors.

GREAT RD; The calling party reported that a vehicle had been crossing the double yellow lines while driving westbound. Stow Police Department was notified and issued a verbal warning to the operator.

ASSABET RIVER WILDLIFE REFUGE; The calling party reported someone walking their dog off leash in the Assabet River Wildlife Refuge. Officer checked the area but was unable to locate the individual with the unleashed dog.

MAIN ST; The calling party requested an officer at the listed address to keep the peace, stating that a CVS worker was refusing to fill her order and she wanted to ensure a fight would not occur. Officer spoke with both parties, and the calling party was sent on her way.

January 10:

BRADLEY LN, STOW; Caller on 911 requested assistance for her dog that had been struggling to get out of the ice. The call was in the town of Stow. While officers were on the scene, the dog was able to get out of the water. Stow Police Department was notified and sent an officer to check on the animal.

SUDBURY RD; Calling party was concerned about four parties on the ice. Officer checked the area with a drone and found no one on the ice, though four parties were on top of a snowbank. Officer spoke to the parties, who were sent on their way.

January 11:

MAIN ST; The walk-in party found a brown leather wallet on the sidewalk in the area of the listed address.

January 12:

SUMMER ST; The calling party reported a large pothole in the area of the listed address and requested that a cone be placed over it until Department of Public Works could be contacted the following morning.

GREAT RD + MAIN ST; The calling party reported that two utility poles near the listed address had previously been damaged due to a motor vehicle accident, one with hanging wires that obstructed the sidewalk. A cone had been placed. Eversource was notified again. The reporting party was updated that Eversource had been notified and instructed to contact police if the issue was not resolved.

January 13:

MAIN ST; MV (motor vehicle) Stop. Wrong way up Nason Street from Main Street.

NASON ST; The reporting party stated that a male had been inside the building the previous day requesting to see a resident’s electric bill. The building owner asked him what services he was attempting to sell, and he could not answer. Officer spoke with the reporting party, who was able to obtain a photo of the individual. The individual was not identified at that time.

COLBERT AVE; The calling party reported an alarm sounding and a smell of smoke coming from a neighboring apartment. Stow Fire Department responded with mutual aid engine. Officer reported that something had been smoking in the microwave, with no active fire. Stow Engine reported the apartment was ventilated and then turned over to the resident.

PROSPECT ST; Caller reported an unknown male wearing a black mask wrapping a vehicle in Saran wrap outside the listed residence. Acton Police Department was notified for mutual aid. Two subjects dressed in black were located upon arrival; it was confirmed to be a prank between colleagues. All parties were checked and sent on their way.

January 14:

PARKER ST; Stow Police Department requested assistance locating a purse that had been stolen from the Shaw’s Supermarket parking lot. A set of AirPods were pinging at that location and were found in the dirt of the turnaround by a resident.

ASSABET ST; The calling party reported that her wallet had been stolen from her car and returned. She stated that $1,200.00 had been taken, but $200.00 was left in the wallet.

WOOD LN; Officers attempted to serve warrants on all parties listed. All parties were taken into custody. Three parties were arrested for out-of-town warrants.

January 15:

PERCIVAL ST; Officers held ALICE presentation and training at Imago School.

January 16:

DIGITAL WAY; Juvenile caller reported a group of teenagers had stolen her Labubu and would not give it back. An adult explained that it appeared to be a misunderstanding. Officer reported that the Labubu had fallen off the backpack and the teenagers found it. He made contact with the parents.

DIGITAL WAY; Reporting party stated that someone in the Market Basket parking lot had accused her of attempting to run him over, threatened her, placed a sticker on her window, and a skull decal under her windshield wiper. Officer spoke to the involved party and would follow up with Market Basket for cameras.

January 17:

PARKER ST + GREAT RD; The calling party had a motor vehicle complaint, where she had been cut off by another driver earlier in the day. She had questions about how someone passed a driver’s license exam.

MAIN ST; The calling party reported that she had seen a group of six people engaged in a fight in the parking lot; no weapons were reported. Officer reported that they spoke with a group of three who stated they had been playing in the snow.

January 19:

ETHELYN CIR; Department of Public Works reported a live wire outside the listed location. Eversource Electric was notified. Officers upon arrival reported sparks coming from the live wire, with no flames at the time. Fire Department was advised. Eversource updated, advised, and arrived on scene. Power was cut briefly at Concord St/Ethelyn Circle, then restored. Scene was turned over to Eversource.

January 20:

MAIN ST; Officer reported that a male party had been assaulted and had significant injuries; Fire Department was present for medical evaluation. Male party was transported to Emerson Hospital.

CONCORD ST CIR; Officer responded to the listed address to check on the involved parties’ dog. The involved party stated she would be at the hospital until Thursday. The officer checked on the dog and confirmed it was being taken care of. One of the neighbors agreed to care for the dog while the involved party was at the hospital.

January 21:

PARKER ST; The calling party reported an animal in her basement. She could not confirm what animal it was, but it was the size of a cat. Animal Control officer was notified.

January 22:

WOOD LN; Caller reported a white van parked outside the residence for an extended period of time. Confirmed to be a delivery driver attempting to make a delivery and was lost.

PARK ST; Caller reported that a dark-colored crossover vehicle with two occupants had approached the listed residence, then left the area. Residence confirmed vacant.  Units checked surrounding and immediate areas, confirmed fresh shoe tracks in the snow approaching the residence (side and rear of the house). Stow Police Department was advised due to suspicious activity and a similar call in the past. Email was sent to supervisors requesting extra checks and awareness.

SUDBURY ST; Funeral Escort.

BROWN ST; Motor Vehicle Stop for an unsecured load; snow on the roof of the vehicle.

[CONCORD] OLD ROAD TO NINE ACRE CORNER; Concord Fire Department called asking for Maynard’s Fire Department Ladder to assist with a box alarm.

MAIN ST; Walk-in party wanted to speak to an officer about a male party who had been shoplifting at her store.

January 23:

BROWN ST + CONCORD ST; Officer was approached by a reporting person about a motor vehicle incident. Officer reported that there appeared to have been a potential road rage incident. Both parties were spoken to and advised.

DAWN RD; Calling party requested a well-being check on her daughter, who had not answered the phone for two weeks. Officer reported both parties checked OK, and the female party was advised to call the reporting person.

PARKER ST; Caller reported a medium-sized black sedan speeding and operating over the double yellow line. Caller advised that the vehicle had crossed the line on Parker St into Sudbury; the call was transferred to Sudbury Police Department.

MAIN ST; Operator was stopped for a Restricted Way violation (Main St/Waltham). Operator was found not to possess an active license. A licensed operator took possession of the vehicle on scene.

January 24:

PARKER ST; Calling party reported black smoke coming from the listed address. Confirmed vacant house. Officer requested Sudbury Police Department close connecting road. Fire Department was on site and reported that the fire was coming from the basement. Fire Department reported heavy fire knocked down with Boxborough responding for station coverage, Acton Car 1 on scene, and Fire Investigator from Wayland responding. Scene was turned over to fire investigators and the state marshal was notified.

PARKER ST; Reporting party stated that there had been eight cars at the listed address the night before having a fire in the chimney.

GREAT RD + PARKER ST; Two-car accident with no injuries; officer assisted with information exchange and a crash report.

SUMMER ST; Caller reported that she had heard a cat meowing outside for approximately an hour. Caller was concerned the animal would freeze overnight. Animal Control Officer was notified.

January 25:

DIGITAL WAY; Caller reported a dark-colored SUV parked in a handicap space out front, running for approximately 15 minutes. Reporting party let officers into the building and checked on the vehicle owner, who had forgotten it was running to warm it up.

ACTON ST; Calling party reported that a female had been standing outside for 30 minutes and requested an officer to check on her wellbeing. Officer let the involved party warm up in the back of the cruiser while she arranged for an Uber. Officer waited until her Uber arrived.

SUMMER ST; Calling party reported that a plow had hit a manhole cover, causing it to pop up and become uneven.

PARKER ST + GREAT RD; Officers pushed a motor vehicle out of a snow drift at the listed intersection.

MAIN ST; Male came into the police station, swearing and making statements that did not make sense. Male then tried to slide money through the opening in the dispatch window. Male was advised to take his money back and leave, which he did.

WALTHAM ST; Assisted a listed vehicle that had been stuck in the snow on the bridge.

January 26:

ACTON ST; Caller reported that a male had asked for a pack of cigarettes and then said he did not have any money to pay for them. Male then took the cigarettes and walked out of the store. An accompanying male was identified as a Lyft driver; passenger was then nowhere to be found.



ACTON ST; Calling party reported snow being blown into the road. Officer reported that the resident had been clearing his lot; minimal snow had been on the side of the road, and he would clean up anything that ended up in the road. Reporting party then emailed the police chief photos and videos of snow being blown into the road. Officer made contact with the resident, who was cleaning up the snow.

DEMARS ST; Officer assisted resident with snow removal.



WOODBINE TER; Calling party reported that there was 6 feet of snow on either side of the road, blocking driveways. Department of Public Works was notified.

HARRISON ST; Calling party reported that his 28 y/o son had taken two shovels out that morning around 9:30 and had not been seen or heard from since. Officer requested Acton Police Department to check Concord Road for the involved party. Officer confirmed a sighting around 2pm on Powder Mill Road. Reporting person called the station and stated his son had been located at his mother’s in Acton. Acton Police Department confirmed he was visiting his mother and would be returning home soon.

January 27:

NORTH ST; Fire Department called requesting a public assist for a citizen with no heat. Engine 1 reported that the resident was assisted.

PARKER ST + WALTHAM ST; Calling party reported that lights at the listed intersections were not cycling correctly. Officer reported he had reset the lights and the problem was resolved.

POWDER MILL RD; Motor Vehicle Stop for an unsecured load, 1.5 feet of snow on the roof of the vehicle.

DAWN RD; Officers with K9 served a warrant. Firearm was located.

January 29:

MAIN ST; Calling party reported that a male had approached her and her boyfriend in the parking lot, making comments and threatening to fight. Officer located the involved male party near Bagel Table. Officer reported that the male had commented on the boyfriend’s stature and had stated he should be a fighter, not threatened to fight. He was advised not to make such comments to people in the future.

DIX RD; Walk-in party reported that she believed someone had been coming into her house and putting toxins in her beauty products.

January 30:

FLORIDA RD; Caller reported that Department of Public Works had pushed snow three feet into his yard, blocking his driveway. Caller advised it had been an ongoing issue. Control asked officer to reach out to DPW; DPW advised they would look into the issue. Caller stated he wished to file a police report and/or civil suit due to this happening seven times over the last several years.

MAIN ST; Motor vehicle stop for improper turn (left on Main St from CVS).

January 31:

SUMMER ST + NASON ST; Officer reported that the listed address would be shut down for Winter Fest.
