Recipients of the annual Performance Recognition Awards were announced at the start of the meeting. Four were honored:

Mark Sinopoli is a resident of Maynard and Computer Science Teacher at the Fowler School who exemplifies dedication and passion as a teacher and “go-to person for data systems.”

Marianne Harrold is a long-time employee and resident of Maynard, and serves in the town’s Assessor’s Office. Always humble, she dutifully supports the Board of Assessors through professional book-keeping and reporting, and serves as a critical component of the town’s finances.

Suzanne Aukstikalnis is also a long-time resident and faculty member of Maynard Public Schools, where she is completing her 22nd year as a dedicated and compassionate paraprofessional. Sue regularly puts in the extra effort to ensure students have every opportunity to succeed. Her ability to connect with students, motivate them and support their growth has changed countless lives.

Mario Damiata brings decades of experience to the newly formed Roadway and Safe Streets Task Force, which is a reflection of his personal initiative and selflessness to make his community safer, accessible, and friendlier for all of his fellow residents and visitors to Maynard.

All 32 Articles in the Warrant were put to a vote. All passed except Article 6 which had proposed a stipend for members of the Maynard Retirement Board, which has been a volunteer position traditionally.  See the list of results here:
