A new ALDI grocery store is set to open at 100 Powder Mill Rd. in Acton’s Powder Mill Plaza on July 23, just across the town line from Maynard. Powder Mill Road connects Maynard, Acton and West Concord, running roughly a mile through Maynard and a half mile through Acton.

The store fills the space previously occupied by Stop & Shop and will be the 24th ALDI location in Massachusetts. The Voice first reported on the planned opening in April. maynardvoicemaynardvoice

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 8:45 a.m. on opening day. The store will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

To mark the opening, the first 200 customers will receive a gift bag of ALDI products and a gift card as part of the company’s Golden Ticket giveaway program.

“As shoppers look to stretch their dollar further, we’re excited to open this new location,” said Chris Daniels, regional vice president for ALDI.

Like most ALDI stores nationwide, the Acton location will offer grocery delivery and curbside pickup, which customers can arrange through shop.aldi.us. The opening is part of the chain’s continued expansion; the company has said it aims to operate 3,200 U.S. stores by the end of 2028.

For Maynard shoppers, the new store adds another grocery option a short drive from town.
