Now you have a chance to make those experiences happen by becoming a member of the Maynard Cultural Council. From music festivals and public art projects to educational workshops, performances, and celebrations of diverse traditions, the council helps bring creativity and connection to every corner of town.

Members of the council distribute funds from the Massachusetts Cultural Council to support programs that enrich the lives of Maynard residents of all ages with programs that enhance the town’s unique cultural character and support the local economy.

“Members of the council are a great group,” said Council Chair Nan Krueger, “we are all like-minded in our love for the community and in supporting arts and culture. We’re looking forward to welcoming new members.”

Some examples of council support include: The Maynard Public Library’s free summer concerts in the park; Strange Maynard Independent Film Festival; Country Music Fest; Maynard Pride Fest; American Flags for Maynard Hometown Heroes;  Music at the Maynard Farmer’s Market; The Maynard Community Band; The Maynard Holiday Parade; sculpture on the Assabet River Trail, and most recently Heart on the River, Maynard’s beautiful new mural on the Fine Arts Theater building.
