Friends of Maynard Seniors Host Annual Holiday Brunch

On December 12, 2025, the Friends of Maynard Seniors hosted their Annual Senior Holiday Brunch at the Maynard Elks for over 160 attendees. The Brunch is open to all Seniors in Maynard at no cost and is a wonderful way to bring people together during the holiday season.

Friends Holiday Brunch

As usual, the Friends were assisted by representatives of both the Police and Fire Departments, and attendees were able to chat with State Senator Jamie Eldridge, State Rep Kate Hogan, and Jay Higgins from Congresswoman Katherine Clark’s office. Everyone enjoyed a wonderful meal prepared by Flo’s Catering, spent time checking out the numerous raffle baskets and catching up with friends and neighbors. This year, the Friends were so grateful to find out that the Maynard Clinton Lodge of Elks had been awarded a grant from the National Elks Foundation covering the cost of the brunch and gift bags for attendees!

The Senior Center is open five days a week and offers weekly events like exercise classes and games, along with numerous special programs like art and craft programs or Grab and Go meals. They also offer local van transportation for grocery shopping and medical appointments and have durable medical equipment available to loan. The staff of the Senior Center offers a wealth of information to seniors, their families and caregivers, to help navigate the issues that can come with aging. The Friends of Maynard Seniors, Inc. was formed in 2017 as a charitable organization to support the Council on Aging in their work supporting Seniors in town. The Friends have funded the software used by the Senior Center to track programs and attendance, have funded various programs offered and sponsored the Annual Senior Holiday Brunch. And in 2026 we are looking forward to being able to help outfit a new, larger, much improved Senior Center.
