The following is a message submitted by Barrels & Vines, located at 115 Main St. in downtown Maynard.

Six months ago, we opened our doors in downtown Maynard with a simple goal: create a welcoming place where people could could connect, discover new wines, and enjoy a unique experience that lets them explore the world of wine at their own pace.

In just six months, we’ve:

• Served nearly 10,000 glasses of wine
• Prepared nearly 500 charcuterie boards
• Welcomed 35 participants and counting to our wine tasting classes
• Hosted multiple events spanning birthday parties, book clubs, a retirement party, a financial seminar, a real estate seminar, a political fundraiser, social club meetings, a local teachers’ event, a corporate team-building event, and even a mahjong tournament!Welcomed 35 participants and counting to our wine tasting classes

The idea for Barrels & Vines actually began long before opening day. Through travels across Europe and South America, our family discovered a love of wine, wine tasting, and the stories that come with every bottle. While visiting Prague, we experienced a unique self-pour wine tasting experience and immediately thought, “We should bring something like this home.”

We are incredibly grateful for the support of the Maynard community, our neighbors, local businesses, friends, family, and every guest who has stopped in for a sip, a charcuterie board, a tasting class, or simply to see what we’re all about.
